The Ministry of Education officially announced the first batch of national first-class undergraduate course accreditation resultsrecently. "Chinese Folk Art" course (coursedirector: Song Beibei; team members: Chen Yao, Meng Meng, Chen Xiaoliang, Pan Xiaoyan) was selected as a national first-class undergraduate course (social practice course).
The "Chinese Folk Art" course is aimed at students majoring in design.Guided by the inheritance and development of excellent Chinese folk art,the course enables students to understand the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of Chinese folk art so that they can integrate folk art and modern design to master an innovative way of design.
After studying this course, students should master the relevant professional knowledge of folk art, andlearnthe craft skills and material knowledge of folk paper-cutting, tie-dyeing, willow weaving,pottery makingand so on,so that they can have better design innovation and practice capability, independent thinking and teamwork skills.
The course teaching embodies the"advanced, innovative, and challenging"standard and incorporates.The course focuses on theresurgence and development of traditional folk art andencourage college students to take innovative and entrepreneurial activities, aiming to promote and revitalize Chinese excellent traditional culture. Integrating ideologicaland political education into this coursewill also be a highlight, which enable students to enhance their cultural awareness, cultural self-confidence for the purpose of practicing the Core Socialist Values.

According to therelevantrequirements of the "Implementation Opinions of the Ministry of Education on the Construction of First-class Undergraduate Courses" (Jiaogao [2019] No. 8) and the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Carrying out National First-class Undergraduate Course Certification”. Reported and recommended by provincial education administration departments and colleges and universities. The Ministry of Education organized network review and conference review.It is reported that 5,751 courses are selected as the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses, including 1,095 online courses, 472 virtual simulation experimental teaching courses, 1,801 online and offline hybrid courses, 2,076 offline courses, and 307 social practice courses.
In recent years, our college had made unremitting efforts to enhance teaching abilities in a variety of ways, encouraging teachers to devote themselves to education and teaching reform and promoting the quality of teaching and student training. The award of national first-class undergraduate course fully reflects the achievement of oureducation reform.
